Do you believe you can be in love with someone you have only met once and never even got to kiss??? Just curious on your thoughts.
Dear Complete & Total Psycho,
When I was four, I was dragged to a Mormon talent show (don’t ask) to watch my gay bestie, Roman, sing an a capella version of the late Whitney Houston’s I Wanna Dance With Somebody. He bombed (singing is not his thing, his parents were pressuring him to perform) and it was so dark. That is, until an older boy graced the stage and sang the most beautiful, soul-crushing version of When A Man Loves A Woman that I’d ever heard. I swear he was singing it for me, and my little baby Babe heart broke right there on the spot.
I have never forgotten my feelings for this young singer. The saddest part of the story is that he also did this amazing dance routine that I missed because I fainted shortly after his vocal performance and had to be air lifted to the nearest, non-Mormon hospital. The good news is that this video of my soul mate popped up on the internet a couple days ago:
The bad news is that I’m so fucking emotional I don’t know what to do with myself. My therapist has been talking to me from 7pm until I fall asleep for the past two nights. So to answer your question: Yes. I believe in connections, and I believe in love.
