I’ve been getting a flood (hehe) of emails asking about ways to help out New York City in the wake of everyone’s fave slore, Sandy.
My first thought when I heard about NYC being basically underwater was: Is Barneys on Madison OK? That place is my personal temple and is often one of the only reasons I get out of bed in the late morning/afternoon.
Once I confirmed that everything in midtown was copacetic I was able to clear my mind and start thinking of ways that I could help out those people in need. Of course you can always donate money to the Red Cross through iTunes. Simple and easy, but not that fun.
There is another way of donating that can benefit those in need while also greatly spicing up your wardrobe. Barneys in NYC is donating 10% of all in-store pruchases made on Sunday to the red cross. So I’ve already made a plan to got to the Barneys here on Wilshire, try on everything, and then have my personal shopper Keely/Kelly call in what I want buy to the NYC store and have it shipped to me here in LA. It’s a win win. I mean I hate waiting for clothes in the mail that I just bought, but everyone needs to make sacrifices after a SUPERSTORM.
So do the right thing. If you’re in NYC, take all of the money that you saved from the past few days of weather related Pilates session cancelations, and spend it at Barneys on Madison. You’ll feel great and you’ll look even better.
