Ask Babe: Scent-ual

I’m on the hunt for the perfect perfume so I was wondering, what’s your favorite/signature scent?

It’s sooooooooo important to have a fragrance story for every occasion. I can’t stress that enough. What you project (scent-wise) at your cousin’s graduation from fat camp should be very different from what you project at your ex-boyfriend’s wedding to his new girlfriend.

I’m going to go ahead and give you a break-down of the scents you need in your cute little life. Bronze Goddess by Estee Lauder is a must. I know you probably think that’s basic as fuck, but it smells like youth/summer in a bottle. I’m talking sunscreen, handjobs, sunscreen handjobs and coconuts. So amazing. It’s a great daytime scent to use for the next four or so months. Another incredible scent is Irene Neuwirth’s Sol 2. It’s an eau de parfum she created specifically for Barneys and it smells like how a yacht in the South of France feels. In the evenings, I like something sexier, so I’ll usually flip flop between Tom Ford’s Santal Blush (if it’s date night) or Le Labo Santal 33 (if it’s gay date night).

Another staple scent that I always have around is Gypsy Water by Byredo. I originally bought it to piss off my Tai Tai, but it smells so good that I always end up going back to it sooner or later. Sometimes if I’m feeling free/poetic/have been on a bender I like to experiment with scented oils, like Egyptian Musk Oil or Kiehl’s Musk Essence Oil, but that only happens every once in awhile. And if I’m feeling dark and dangerous, I’ll go really intense and wear Tuscan Leather by Tom Ford. It smells like coke so…you get the picture.
